Talinghaga | Allegories

Lumulutang-lutang sa sariling talinghaga,
masyadong mahiwaga ang mga gunita
At ang maraming guni-guni,
pinaglalaruan nga ba ako?
Nais ko sanang idampi sila
sa palad at papel ngunit
hindi
masyadong malalim
ang hugutang diwa
hindi kaya ng mga salita
ang mga talinghaga
ang gunita
guni-guni
guni-guni
guni-gunita

Floating in my own allegories
mystifying are the memories
And all those presentiments,
are they playing me tricks?
I wish to brush them against
on palm and on paper, but
NO
Too profound
is this inspiring thought
words will never grasp
those allegories
memories
presentiments

  Gabi-Gabi plant or Caladium (that found its way in our roofed Garden!)               On Thursday late night, I found a new plant in our garden sitting in one of our old pots, sharing space with the big plant in it. I usually just see this plant on display in malls as a plastic replica AND NOW here it is, alive and thriving right in our garden! (I have never seen one real, alive plant of this sort in our neighborhood as well ever). Where did this adorable plant come from? Did the seeds fly from the air, reached our roofed garden then fell on that pot? Did pollination cause this plant to literally reach our soil? Nah never mind because what is important is oh I found MY BABY! #Throwback: my joy-filled struggles as a SPED practicumer

Guess who this special person in my life is :)  (you'll soon find out!) Teaching the SpEd way had been a whole new world to me. Wait, before I proceed to the meat of my story about this, let me first give you an appetizer to begin with. I have been a schoolteacher for four years in the secondary level right after I graduated college. In my first two years of teaching, I handled high-school students in the progressive set-up—meaning, some of them are high-functioning special needs students in the mainstream program. That was my very first exposure to special needs learners and Special Education. My next 2 years of teaching experience was spent in an exclusive school for boys where my executive skills (time management, classroom management, and the like) were trained and tested.
