What I Learn from Children : How to Go to Heaven ^_^

(Taken from my October 2017 teaching experience)              

             Good morning world! 🔆 It's so easy to start the day with a pout, a doubt and pessimism, right? It takes some inner strength to fight the urge to ramble 😆ANYWAY, in my own little battle to be thankful for today, i suddenly remembered this angel 👼whose name is Chloe and a cute story i had with her

               This is Chloe. She is a 7-year-old kid, grade 1. What i vividly remember most about her with our not-so-regular interactions was when she asked me for my Flat Tops chocolate. I had to "delay her gratification" because it's not yet recess time. So come recess time, i gave her my chocolate. Finally! So she put the chocolate on top of her Lemon Square Cheesecake cupcake and told me it's her own version of a choco muffin (haha, creative!). And just like any child who saves the best for last, there she was biting the edges of the cupcake and saving the middle part with the Flat Tops on for last! (I know you did that when you were young too haha!). Then finally, the moment she'd been waiting for came--the only thing that's left was the middle part where her desired Flat Tops was. However, to my surprise, she looked at me and gave me the middle part of the cupcake! She looked at me and told me "yours". Of course i refused and i told her i gave it to her and its hers so she should eat it. Nevertheless, she still insisted many times. In her desire to give it to me, aba, sinubuan na ako nun cupcake!
LESSON THAT DAY: There's really something special and something so pure with children -- a consistent theme i get to remember with my every interaction with them. In Chloe's desire to have and eat the chocolate 🍬, she still remembered to share her most important possession with me the last minute! How is that freedom from the "this-is-mine" attitude so liberating!🎉
It's good laughing and learning from children.

                   Oh so that's the reason why the Lord Jesus Christ pointed out this truth so very often in his dealings with the disciples: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3)!

  Gabi-Gabi plant or Caladium (that found its way in our roofed Garden!)               On Thursday late night, I found a new plant in our garden sitting in one of our old pots, sharing space with the big plant in it. I usually just see this plant on display in malls as a plastic replica AND NOW here it is, alive and thriving right in our garden! #Throwback: my joy-filled struggles as a SPED practicumer

Guess who this special person in my life is :)  (you'll soon find out!) Teaching the SpEd way had been a whole new world to me. Wait, before I proceed to the meat of my story about this, let me first give you an appetizer to begin with. I have been a schoolteacher for four years in the secondary level right after I graduated college. In my first two years of teaching, I handled high-school students in the progressive set-up—meaning, some of them are high-functioning special needs students in the mainstream program. That was my very first exposure to special needs learners and Special Education. My next 2 years of teaching experience was spent in an exclusive school for boys where my executive skills (time management, classroom management, and the like) were trained and tested.
